Paul Sheldon, a successful writer of the Misery novel series, finishes his final work and ends up saying goodbye to his heroine, Misery Chastain, and writing him a peaceful death, before he can turn in his manuscript, he finds himself in a blizzard in which he is in a car accident. Luckily for her, a nurse, who (as she said) is her biggest fan, Annie Wilkes, gets to the scene first and rescues her from the frozen wreck, wakes up in her guest room with her broken legs and sprained shoulder, which she doesn't even know is going to have a torture chamber and a prison.
In the atmosphere of desperation, vulnerability and isolation, the play is performed by the Siluet Theatre.
